About
Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She has experience working with children, teens, and adults experiencing challenges with ADHD, anxiety, depression and substance abuse.
Jennifer is passionate about providing a supportive and comfortable environment for clients who are struggling. Combining her diverse life experiences and education with the client’s knowledge of themselves facilitates positive and lasting change clients seek. Using varying evidenced based theoretical approaches, Jennifer empowers her clients to explore who they are, examine their strengths and overcome barriers to accomplish their goals.
She has personal experience with ADHD and various learning disabilities, which gives her a unique perspective during the counseling experience. She can facilitate the learning of behavioral tools to help clients who are challenged by these issues, as well as, provide support to individuals who want to understand and help their loved ones struggling with these issues. She also has experience in navigating the IEP process and transitioning to college for children with special needs.
Additionally, as the spouse of a Fire Fighter/Paramedic, Jennifer understands the culture of that population and their experiences on the job and at home. Jennifer has been to several firefighter mental health trainings, which educated her further on the specific obstacles firefighters face when struggling to process the traumas they have witnessed. It is important to Jennifer that she is there for the brothers that have always been there for her husband and her family.
